Is was SO looking forward to an Adroid version, but I have to say I’m a bit disappointed. Sorry guys.

The UI has become much more cumbersome than mouse control. So many clicks just to send a scout …

I guess this kind of game is made for PC really. My hand an my eyes are competing all the time for the screen. Either I do something and then I’m not really seeing everything or I’m just watching.

The version I played yesterday also had poor performance still. On a Nexus 7, which is supposed to have more than enough horsepower to not make that an issue.

Thanks for the effort, but I’ll stick to the PC version for the time being I guess.

    Hi Felix,

Sorry that you don’t like the touch controls. These have been used on iOS devices for nearly a year very successfully but I guess we can’t make them work for everyone. If you were referring to the new PC version, then we *will* be supporting more mouse control systems when we do the full release in Spring/Summer next year (which you’ll get for free). This is a beta release especially for the Humble Bundle.

The Android version is also a special just for the bundle, and it allows us to get feedback on the myriad of Android devices. We have a couple more bugs to crack today, and then next week we’re going to look at performance as there seems to be some issue slowing things on the Nexus 7.

For the time being, make sure you have the latest version from the bundle (hopefully an update went live yesterday) and then go to Options. Change qraphics quality and level of detail to low. This doesn’t change much visually but will make it faster to use.

Thanks for your comments. I guess I’m just used to the flawless controls on my PC. It’s no fault of yours that it is just not as good on a tablet.

Looking forward to performance tweaks nonetheless.

I have to say, i like the touch controls much better than clicking and traveling huge distances with the mouse. Both work nicely for me, though.

Performance on Android is a real issue, though. Even with details and rendering quality turned all the way down, my Galaxy Nexus can’t handle anything with more than about 200 seedlings. Also, when changing those settings, the UI elements get smaller for whatever reason.

    Hey guys!
Just wanted to say that it’s an awesome game you’ve created and im having a blast with it on PC. :) i just got the Android version from the humble bundle and it runs well on my S2 performance wise. Except for the very very weird fact that the touch screen controls are somehow mirrored. So practically if an asteroid is in the top half of the screen, ill need to tap its location on the bottom half to select it. This gets kind of weird if the asteroids start being placed diagonally as this mirror axis isn’t always at the same place. As I said though, pure performance and looks wise its a beauty. :)

Sorry for the double post, cant seem to edit the old comment.

I fixed my problem. :) turns out the game doesn’t like it if the gyrometer is turned off. It then seems to think that a certain side is ‘down’ when in fact the opposite side is. After turning on the gyro everything works splendidly. :)

Hello there ! I bought the bundle yesterday and I have some big performance issues when zooming on my Asus Transformer TF300T. I hope this will be fixed soon because this game is really good ;)

I really liked the HD version for PC.

For the version that appears on Humble Bundle will there be translations (PC)?

Really enjoying the game so far – fav of the bundle. But performance really is an issue. My S3 starts to struggle after a few minutes. Any ETA on a fix? Thanks!

I have a ‘tiny’ problem playing the HD version on my Galaxy Nexus. All controls are reversed, including the overlay HUD for the back, home and app switch buttons. Dragging down moves the interface up, etc. Completely unplayable right now unfortunately. I was one of the ones that got the humble bundle.

I have to give a heart thank you and job well done to those involved in the Android port. On a whim I googled “Android game reviews”, which I _rarely_ do, found out about the pack, and am quite happy with the result on my 1 year old Asus tablet. Yes, the controls are a little tweaked, but what can ya do? End result is finally an Android version of one of my all-time favorite games. Now if there was some sort of Eufloria/Auralux hybrid game-child…

    Thanks again!

Eufloria works like a charm on my Galaxy Nexus with AOKP, with some problems:

-The framerate stutters when the “manual sending mode” overlay is active
-Looks like eufloria doesnt have state preserving or autosaving of any kind, just getting a call can make the android system to auto kill the app and when you return, all the progress is lost and you have to start the mission from the beggining

I also experience performance problems, (Samsung Galaxy Tab 2) – also with low settings. Hopefully this will be somewhat optimized. It’s a lovely game though, which needs to be said, and I applaud you porting it.

    Keep it humble. ;)

Thanks! I got the linux version through the “Humble Bundle for Android 4″. I paid really little USD(0.01) not because I’m boycotting the bundle but because I’m boycotting the USD. I have 1 Bitcoin for you if you want it which at current market prices is worth ~10.90 USD(dollars). After all, you deserve it for all your work. If you want such a humble donation send me an email or post your Bitcoin(a cryptocurrency) address on the site.

Great job for a wonderful game!!! I’m really enjoying it!!!

Is there likely to be an update for the Steam version that includes a native Linux version?

Does this mean the steam version is going to get an update soon? :D

I loved this game when I first got it from the Indie Royale bundle it was in. I haven’t beaten it on PC, but I bought the HD version on iphone and am eagerly awaiting a PC update.

Sorry for the delayed response! I tend to notice forum posts more than comments!

The controls/orientation issue on Android is on the bug list. There has also already been a fix for Android to address an options issue. You should get the latest version and change your options – if they aren’t already set – to LOD-Low and Quality-Low. You won’t notice much visually, if anything, but speed will improve.

That said, performance is also on the list of things to sort improve!

  19. Posted 13/12/2012 at 14:53 | Permalink

I just noticed a few updates in our waiting for approval queue, so to answer:

    – The latest Android build address the orientation issue and some performance stuff. However, we have another update *hopefully* to go out in the next couple of days which address the user interface being slow. This makes the game feel like its running at a low fps on devices like the Nexus 7, when actually it’s a touch input bug. I still need to verify the fix works as planned.

    – Steam will be getting Eufloria HD on all platforms, as will all existing Eufloria owners (one way or another), including Steam Eufloria owners.

This will not be until summer 2012 as we have to finish Eufloria Adventures first (PlayStation Mobile initially), and then we want to nice up the PC/Mac/Linux builds and add modding support again, plus more controller options (joypad, mouse/keys as per original Eufloria, touch possibly). Oh, and a new game mode with more levels, mustn’t forget that. A more laid back gardening style mode!
